Instagram opened up its ad platform just over a year ago. Now the company announced plans to introduce ads in Instagram Stories, a Snapchat-like feature it rolled out in August.
Instagram said recently that 150 million accounts a day are using Instagram Stories – half of the 300 million daily users Instagram has.
Ads will now show up between some Stories, which take up the full phone screen and otherwise seamlessly transition from one account to the next. They will start with about 30 selected brands including General Motors, Netflix, Airbnb, and Capital One — before expanding to all advertisers in coming weeks.
