HUFFPO, MASHABLE, CNET DIG GOOGLE PIZZA VID.
We never really expected anyone to watch the whole thing. Although, as we were working on it, it did start to become strangely entertaining. The idea kinda came from Andy Warhol’s 8 hour film; a lock-off shot of the empire state building, called “Empire.”
Similarly, the idea here is not so much to sit and watch a beginning, middle and end. It’s more to communicate the concept of each Google Mobile search being different, based on where you do it. Hence the end line, “Where you are is what your search.”
We put it up Thursday night, with no seeding. By mid-day Friday, it had been featured on Mashable, CNET, Huffington Post, Creativity-online, and Techmeme. Mashable used the word “Masterpiece,” Huffington said it was “what the future of interactive advertising might look like,” and one of our favorite comments on Youtube was “This is the stupidist thing on the internet.”
