The year was 1991: The United States and The Soviet Union had just signed the START I Treaty, the average monthly rent was $495.00, and in the prestigious state of New Jersey, one Whitney James was born.
Fast forward sixteen years and Whitney found herself on the path of a promising career working at the local Blockbuster in her hometown of West Chester, PA. After getting the opportunity to intern at Autofuss, Whitney left PA and set out for San Francisco, where she fell in love with a city and a program called Final Cut Pro 7. When her internship at Autofuss ended, and the reality that she would never get her Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry acceptance letter (which had probably just been sent to the wrong address) set in, Whitney went with her fallback of Film School. Three months later, having dropped out of film school, she landed an internship in Austin, TX at Megalomedia where she spent the next five years of her life learning the ropes of editing and the art of the perfect pairing of Brisket and beer. Having found her way back to San Francisco, Whitney joins MUH-TAY-ZIK | HOF-FER as film editor.
When she’s not at work, Whitney can be found chillin’ out, maxin’, and relaxin’ all cool, hitting up Amoeba Music, or catching a movie at The Alamo Drafthouse. Usually hot wings somehow find their way into the mix.
