Can you believe the 2017 holiday shopping season is right around the corner? Well, there’s a new report out prepping marketers on what to expect.
Highlights of the report:
- More eCommerce: Online sales are expected to jump over 16% YOY, driven by mobile commerce and the intensifying online battle between large retailers and digital marketplaces.
- Retail also up slightly: Brick and mortar sales are expected to rise around 3%, driven by strong consumer confidence, low unemployment, and solid economic performance.
- Shopping season stretching further: 1/3 of holiday gift buyers will start their shopping in October or earlier.
- eCommerce consolidating: Amazon in the clear lead, followed by eBay.
