Megyn Kelly Leaving Fox News for NBC; Will Be Replaced By Tucker Carlson

Megyn Kelly, who has spent 12 years at Fox News, is leaving for NBC News. The news brings a conclusion to the most anticipated television news contract since Katie Couric signed with CBS News in 2006 for $15 million a year.

Kelly was convinced to make the move away from Fox based on NBC’s 3-part hosting offer. She will host her own daytime news show, anchor in-depth Sunday night news and play a key role in NBC special political and big-event coverage.

The news is a big deal for Fox News as it stands to upend their prime lineup only months after the network’s founding chairman Roger Ailes was ousted after multiple sexual harassment allegations.

Kelly had become the second-most watched Fox News host behind Bill O’Reilly and was a key figure in the recent election, often times taking on now President-elect Donald Trump, who attacked her on personal terms at times.

Fox had offered Kelly more than $20 million a year to stay.
