Amanda Burger hails from the northern suburbs of Chicago, a faraway land full of Cheesecake Factories and Bar Mitzvahs. As a youngin, she enjoyed reading, playing with friends both real and imaginary, and musical theatre. She thought she’d be on Broadway by now, but she is not on Broadway by now.
Amanda graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2012. There, she majored in English and sang bass in the all-female a cappella group, The Rip Chords. That’s the thing you pull to release a parachute, in case you were wondering. It’s also a pun.
After college, Amanda was all like “WUT DO I DO” so she decided to move to Prague to teach English to PepsiCo businessmen. A year and a half later, she came home, stumbled across the Chicago Portfolio School, and fell in love with copywriting. The rest is history.
Not really, but she’s excited to have a found a career at MUH-TAY-ZIK | HOF-FER that combines all her talents and lets her be the thing she thinks she is most—creative.
XOXO, Burger Girl.
