Seinfeld Takes ‘Comedians in Cars’ to Netflix

Jerry Seinfeld is taking his popular web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” to Netflix later this year. The show has run on Sony Crackle since 2012 and has been nominated for an Emmy for best variety series.

The move will include all future and previous episodes of the show and represents a significant hit to Crackle as “Comedians in Cars” was arguably the platform’s best and highest profile piece of content.

In addition to “Comedians in Cars,” Seinfeld has also signed a production deal with Netflix, which will include two stand-up specials, and developing scripted and unscripted content.

Netflix has been making moves in the comedy space recently by striking deals with top talent including Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Amy Schumer. The deal with Chris Rock was reported to cost Netflix $40 million.
