Twitter & Bloomberg Announce 24/7 Live Twitter Channel

Twitter announced its first partner for an around-the-clock video service: Bloomberg.

The Wall Street Journal reports. The deal will see Bloomberg producing news programming specifically for Twitter, mixing live news reported from Bloomberg’s global bureaus with videos posted by verified Twitter users, and streaming around the clock.

“It is going to be focused on the most important news for an intelligent audience around the globe and it’s going to be broader in focus than our existing network,” said Bloomberg Media’s chief executive officer, Justin Smith.

Twitter has been testing its live video solution via various offerings such as U.S. presidential debates, Wimbledon and NFL Thursday Night Football, which was notably just taken by Amazon.

The channel with Bloomberg is expected to launch this fall and will feature content custom produced for Twitter.
